Operation Shrink Your Body – Day 13: Staying Motivated

By Nicola Cucuiet* and Sylvia Klinger

IMG_1891It’s almost the middle of January…13 days down!  Hope you are feeling as good and happy as I am feeling 🙂  Let us know what is keeping you motivated to accomplish all the things you committed to while keeping the things we craved for in the year passed. Easier said than done…trust me, I have been there!
So what is the secret?! What is the motivational boost that keeps you going? How can you transform your body in a well oiled machine that can instinctively choose right from wrong, healthy from unhealthy, and rid you of all the guilt of previous mistakes and previous defeats.
The key is in the friendship between man and food, and this relationship is based on the most important tool of all…knowledge! And to acquire this knowledge man must gather all the information about food, that as we all know, can have many faces. And here is where nutritionist intervene, helping us discover the good faces of our foods, that will lead you to a life of health, energy and pleasure.
Secondly, for this new chapter to take place in your life you must learn to love yourself! A shocking report shows that 7 out of 10 women think they would be happier if their appearance would chance. But is this really the case? Does a number on the scale open the gateway to heaven and perfection? It’s not a bad thing to try to look better or fell better or be healthier, but it is ridiculous and dangerous to think that all your problems will disappear with the melt of your pounds. Learn to love your appearance, pamper yourself, admire yourself and the rest will follow.
When deciding to commit to a life of healthy habits and choices it is important to acknowledge the fact that this is a life time decision, and not a decision for a week or a month, so get rid of you addiction to diets because being slim does not mean being healthy!  Don t be afraid of food, love it, experience it, and be realistic! Be flexible and positive, give up ultimatums, forbidden foods, and dont’s  and focus on things that you can do, that are good and healthy and the universe will work in your favor to attract all the things you dream of!
Learn to eat variously and be adventurous with your food choices, don t get stuck with the same meal routine because there is no single food that can provide you with all the nutrients your body needs. Organize and plan your meals so that each bite you have provides you with a nutritive equilibrium. Planning ahead helps you avoid cravings and distractions that can surface when wondering around the shop with no clear idea of what to purchase. Step outside the boundaries and give your every meal your personal touch. Know that every person is different! What works for another person might not work for you and vice versa, so don’t be afraid to be yourself in the way you eat and the way you live  life.
So from this moment on commit to learning, to loving yourself, to being organized and adventurous!

Live life and love it. Eat well.
